Selah Truth is the Legal Assistant at The Pride Law Firm. She attended Eastern Washington University in Cheney, Washington, where she received two BA degrees in Criminal Justice and Sociology. After taking a year off after graduating, Selah and her partner moved to San Diego after both were accepted to the University of San Diego for graduate school. She joined The Pride Law Firm team in February 2022 initially as the Paralegal Intern. She was hired part-time until she graduated and earned her paralegal certificate. In her free time, she enjoys going on hikes, planning fun couple activities and spending time with her kitty.

Why are you choosing to focus on sexual assault?
I joined this firm because I believe that we are voices for those we are fighting for. Every victim of trauma deserves to have someone on their side and in their court. Being the support system for those whose voices go unheard is the most rewarding thing to do.
What is a message you would like to give survivors of sexual assault who are afraid of pursuing their perpetrators in civil court?
It’s okay to be afraid, there will always be someone there to guide you through the process. You are never alone and it’s okay to take it one step at a time.
More About Selah
I am from Seattle, Washington. I met my partner in our high school drumline/ marching band and together we moved to Cheney, Washington to attend Eastern Washington University (Go Eags!). I have two Social Science degrees — one in Criminal Justice and the other in Sociology. I moved to San Diego to attend USD’s Paralegal Program and graduated spring of 2022. I enjoy going on hikes, camping, and exploring the new city I can home.
