Sophia Rebecca-Marie

Sophia (“Sophii”) Rebecca-Marie is an Associate Attorney at The Pride Law Firm and a civil rights attorney who represents survivors of sexual assault, abuse, and exploitation. She’s dedicated her career to working with survivors, and her practice centers on holding individuals, institutions, and employers accountable for harm. She represents clients in complex civil litigation involving sexual violence, trafficking, workplace misconduct, and other civil rights violations.

Before law school, Sophii earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Western Washington University (WWU), where she presented her research on dating behaviors at the university’s 2017 PsychFest. During and after her undergraduate studies, she spent nearly five years as a Survivor Advocate, completing more than 150 hours of specialized, trauma-informed training focused on working with sexual assault survivors.

She went on to graduate Magna Cum Laude from California Western School of Law. There she competed across the country on the California Western Trial Team to sharpen her trial skills, and she served as a Senior Editor on the Board of the International Law Journal, where her scholarly work was published. Sophii earned the highest grade in seven of her classes, including Trial Skills, Health Law and Policy, and Advanced Legal Writing (STEPPS I & II). She also received the Lawyer’s Club of San Diego Janeen Kerper Scholarship, awarded for her work advancing women in society and law.

At The Pride Law Firm, Sophii is a zealous advocate for all survivors of sexual assault. She draws on her experience as a Survivor Advocate to create a safe space for her clients, and her deep understanding of how trauma affects people shapes the way she practices: client-centered, compassionate, and strategically relentless. She knows the courage it takes to come forward. So she works to provide clarity throughout the legal process, amplify her clients’ voices, and pursue meaningful accountability. Passion and compassion sit at the core of her values, and she takes real pride in representing survivors and helping them reach the best possible outcomes. Sophii also speaks on issues at the intersection of survivors’ rights, gender justice, LGBTQ+ rights, and civil rights enforcement.

Outside of her legal work, Sophii spends her time caring for her rescue dog, and she hopes to foster more rescues in the future.
